On May 16, 2020, a live event titled “Voluntary Organization Activities in Corona Situation” was organized by a voluntary organization called “Sheba Somonnoy”, where the president of “Haate Haat Foundation”, Md. Tawfiqul Islam was invited. In addition to their work, the Sheba Somonnoy organization has tried to bring together the volunteers who are conducting their activities in the existing Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh on a single platform to know their running activities and plans. Apart from “Haate Haat”, representatives of “Brihonnola Foundation” in Dhaka and “Youth Action Society” in Narayanganj were also present at the live event.
Asked about the role of “Haate Haat” in the Corona situation, Tawfiqul Islam said, “We have undertaken a multi-purpose plan in the Corona situation, as part of which we have carried out relief operations in Chittagong metropolis, Rangunia, Chakaria and Kumira. We also have been promoting various educational and precautious activities related to health, psychology, running national and international information and so on”. Asked about Haate Haat’s plans, he said, “We want to work for post-disaster economic recovery. Our goal is to build self-reliant entrepreneurs and skilled manpower. We also want to work tirelessly for the development of domestic industry.” The other two invited organizations spoke about their current activities and plans. The program ended with a discussion on the current situation in the country, its plans and activities.
